Vacu-Box for Indented Writing Part No: 44-5550
The Vacu-Box is an economical solution to indented writing retrieval. Designed to be simple to use, yet robust. The user places the document containing the indented writing on the steel vacuum plate. Type IW film is then pulled over the document and the unit is activated. Tiny holes in the base of the vacuum plate produce suction, pulling the document and the film into the grooves of the indented writing. The corona unit is waved over the document and film, statically charging the evidence. Developing powder is then lightly brushed over the surface using a standard Squirrel hair brush. Powder will adhere to the indents in the paper. Results may be photographed and a sheet of adhesive film placed over the resultant marks to retain them. This process will not alter or damage the document.
