This high-intensity long-wavelength Ultraviolet lamp has an average operating intensity of 4,000 mW/cm2. Rather than a bulky ballast as in most ultraviolet spot lamps, all the electronics are built into the lamp housing. As a result, the bulk and weight is gone, yet all the power of a transformer-based unit remains. An integrated heat guard/stand is included to protects against burns and acts as a lamp stand. The lamp housing is constructed of rugged, high-impact polymer to withstand hard use. For ease in handling at a crime scene, the power cord is 20 feet long. The 150-watt bulb has a rated life of 5,000 hours.
